At the beginning of the 20th century, there was great tension in Switzerland between the bourgeoisie and the social democrats. The latter accused the bourgeoisie of being responsible for excessively high food prices and low wages. On the other hand, the bourgeoisie's fear of a left-wing overthrow of the government grows, as this is exactly what happens in neighboring countries towards the end of the First World War.
